Former Ireland striker Tony Cascarino has tipped his former club Chelsea to make a ‘mind-boggling’ transfer this summer.
Cascarino believes that the West London club could pull off the potentially record-breaking signing of Borussia Dortmund’s talisman Erling Haaland.
Reports suggest that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with the Norwegian striker and are pushing to get the transfer done this summer.
A deal won’t come cheap, however, but the Blues do appear to be clearing the decks to make room, with Olivier Giroud having departed for AC Milan and Tammy Abraham, a target for Arsenal, apparently surplus to requirements.
‘Tammy (Abraham) has been rumoured to go so they’re making space. They have to do that because of financial fair play,’ Cascarino told talkSPORT.

‘Some people will say that doesn’t work but clubs are trying to abide by the rule and they have to move people out.
‘For them to do that they are going to do a mind-boggling transfer and I think it will be Haaland. Whether everyone says no it’s next year and that’s in his contract, Chelsea are going to offer big money for somebody and I suspect it will be him.’

Dortmund, themselves, are close to the signing of Haaland’s potential replacement, Donyell Malen who is set to sign from Dutch sign PSV Eindhoven.
And Cascarino believes that Chelsea have to do all it takes to bring one of the best prospects in world football to Stamford Bridge.
