Chelsea and Andreas Christensen are currently in negotiations over a new contract extension at the club.
Nothing has been confirmed as of yet and of course, as is always the case during an international break, the defender has been quizzed on his future by the Danish media.
As translated by Football London, Ekstra Bladet asked the Chelsea academy graduate about his rumoured new Chelsea contract extension and where we are at with it.
Christensen couldn’t give too much away but his reaction was certainly way more positive than negative in terms of whether he will be staying at Stamford Bridge or not.
His contract at the club ends next summer and as it stands, he will be free to talk to other clubs come January. But it doesn’t look like it will be coming to that if his latest words here are anything to go by.
“I know a lot is being said right now. I can not say too much, but I think it looks good,
“We have won the Champions League and the Super Cup. I am very happy to be at this club and feel Chelsea are the right place to be in England.
“I know Thomas Tuchel believes in me. I have also played a big role since he came.
“I had a very difficult period under [Frank] Lampard, shortly before he was fired. Now luckily it’s going the right way for me. But yes, things can go fast in this world.
“The most important thing is just that I have never given up.”
