Cristiano Ronaldo sends clear demand to teammate after Aston Villa defeat

Manchester United suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season and third in four games against Aston Villa, and Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded that the team reacts immediately.

Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded that Manchester United react immediately after falling to a third defeat in four games against Aston Villa.

United struggled to create any real clear-cut chances against Villa at Old Trafford, as defender Kourtney Hause headed in an 88th minute corner to give the visitors all three points.

The home side had the chance to snatch a draw in injury time when they were awarded a penalty for handball, but Bruno Fernandes smashed the ball well over the bar after assuming spot-kick duties despite Ronaldo being on the pitch.

The defeat means United have lost three of their last four in all competitions after defeats to Young Boys in the Champions League and West Ham in the Carabao Cup, but Ronaldo has demanded that his teammates react immediately and put these results behind them.

In an Instagram post Ronaldo said;

“This is only the beginning, but in a competition as strong as the Premier League, every point counts! We must react immediately, get back on our feet and show our true strength.”

United’s next game comes on Wednesday in the Champions League group stages, where a win is needed to get the fans back on side but also to help with their chances of qualification following defeat in the opening game.

Ronaldo scored United’s only goal in that game in Switzerland and will look to add to his record as the all-time top goalscorer in the competition’s history against the La Liga side and current Europa League holders.
